The FREE friendly hospital transport service for cancer patients registered at Meadowbank Health Centre
If you have cancer and are registered at Meadowbank Health Centre, Meadowbank Car 4U can take you to and from hospital appointments and treatment sessions for free.
You will be collected from your home, taken to hospital and brought home again. You can even take a friend or relative with you.
When you get your appointment, contact your doctor’s reception and leave your name and phone number. The receptionist will forward your contact details to a Meadowbank Car 4U coordinator. Our coordinator will phone you to discuss the details of your appointment times and any special requirements you may have. Next, the coordinator will allocate a driver for each journey, and will advise you of the driver’s name and phone number.
Prior to your appointment time, your driver will contact you to arrange a pick-up time. This means that you will know exactly who is taking you to hospital and at what time you should be ready.
On the day, the driver will wait at the hospital during your appointment and take you straight home afterwards. However, in that event that your appointment lasts a full day, we may have one driver take you to hospital, and a different driver will be sent to bring you home.
